KUALA LUMPUR: The seat allocation between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional for the six state elections is expected to be finalised by the end of May.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (pic) said the discussions on the seat negotiations for the Unity government into the six state polls were still in progress.

"Nothing has been finalised and discussions at the state level are still ongoing. We will decide by the end of this month," he told reporters at Menara Dato Onn, World Trade Centre here, on Friday (May 26).

Speaking to reporters on the main agenda of the supreme council meeting tonight, Bung Moktar said it was to decide the future of the Umno after the party polls.

"After the party polls, we want to hear from those elected and hear the future plans for Umno as well as to empower the party in facing the six state elections," he said.

In February, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said all six mentris besar and chief ministers of the states namely Penang; Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu had agreed to dissolve their respective assemblies in the last two weeks of June.

The six states did not dissolve their respective state assemblies during the 15th General Election last year, and it was expected for the six states to hold their polls before September.
